Vera's ashes have hardly had time to settle in their urn, and Coronation Street scriptwriters have already turned their attention to new plotlines for Jack.
Romance is going to feature heavily, it seems. According to the Sun's Corrie insider, “Everyone is feeling desperately sorry for Jack but there are brighter skies ahead for him. The script writers are planning to introduce a couple of female characters into his life.” Predictions are that Rita Sullivan and Audrey Roberts will be among those vying for the pigeon-fancier's attentions (wonder what Audrey will do with Bill Webster if that's the case?). And one of Jack's new admirers is going to be ten years younger than him.
Jack has always had an eye for the ladies, of course. The Sun goes on to say, “The loss of Vera opens up all manner of strong storylines for Jack. There is a lot of scope for things he never would have dared get away with before. Bill will drop regularly in and out of the show and Jack’s turbulent life will allow just for that.” It sounds as though Jack is going to be having fun, which is in keeping with his character, while not really seeking to replace the irreplaceable Vera.

I don't think either Rita or Audrey will seriously chase Jack nor Emily either. I can see Doreen maybe having a go or else a new character. It's not uncommon for widows to approach a man who's lost his wife, wanting to "take care of him".
Can't see either of them being interested in Jack. Audrey has always looked down her nose at the Duckworths - after all she was the majoress for a while. Would rather see a new character take an interest in Jack if someone must.
The potential link to Audrey is laughable. Anyway she is perfectly happy with Bill. I think Doreen would be a good match. Where on earth has she vanished to? I miss her.
Oh yuck!! Jack and Audrey/Rita/Emily? Unthinkable. Way out of his league. No one even comes to mind.
