Jack P Shepherd's tattoo torment

A funny story from the Daily Star this morning. Apparently, to show his undying love for Tina, David Platt is going to have her name tattooed on the delicate flesh of his chest. You can only imagine how Gail is going to react to that.

It was Jack P Shepherd's reaction that caused most amusement. Other cast members told him that fake tattoos don't work in front of the cameras, and he'd be expected to have a real one! The poor lad rushed to the Coronation Street producer's office to argue that having the name "Tina" permanently etched on his torso would ruin his future chances with any girl who wasn't called Tina. There's no mention of what his girlfriend, Lauren Shippey, might have thought of the scheme.

To Jack's relief, he was told that make-up artists will draw the tattoo on for any episode it needs to be seen. But does it have the desired effect on Tina? Sadly not. "It’s disgusting and a turn-off. You look like a painted freak!” she tells him, in her usual blunt fashion. Poor David.
