Fans vote for Duckworths' golden wedding

Coronation Street viewers were recently asked to vote for the favourite Vera Duckworth moment, and on the eve of her departure from Corrie, the results have been announced by ITV.com.

And the winner is... Jack and Vera's Golden Wedding anniversary. Jack made a speech in which he said he'd met Vera at a funfair. "She was the most beautiful girl at the fair. Her hair shone like treacle, and I thought to meself, 'Jack - you've come'ome.'" Over 21% of people who voted chose that touching scene, ahead of other classic moments like Vera tricking Jack into a blind date, and Vera receiving a card from the Queen.
