Michelle had a surprise visit from Alex's mum. The two women sat down at the table and calmly discussed their swapped-at-birth sons. Michelle was relieved to find out that Wendy doesn't want to swap Ryan for Alex - in fact, she doesn't want Alex to know anything about the Connors, and is happy to keep things the way they are. Michelle agreed with this scheme, but you just know that it's not going to be as easy as that.

Ryan spent the episode spluttering angrily when he discovered that he was the last to know that he may not be Michelle's son. Even Uncle Liam and Auntie Carla knew! Later...

Michelle discovered that Ryan hadn't been back to school for the afternoon, and as darkness fell, he still wasn't back. Michelle was "worried sick."

In other Connor news, Liam was going stir-crazy at home and wanted to get back to work. "I miss the buzz!" he said, as if he was the most handsome member of the Happy Mondays. "Plus, there's Carla... somebody's got to keep her in check." Maria tried her level best to keep Liam and Carla apart, even offering to collect some paperwork for him so he didn't have to make the hobble over the cobbles himself. Sadly she was diverted via a bakery in Chorlton (they make brilliant wedding cakes, apparently), which gave Carla the opportunity to get over the road, make a refreshing beverage and settle down for an afternoon's figure-crunching with Liam (by which I mean they did the accounts, obviously). All Maria could do was curl up her lip at Carla and sigh a lot.

Jack and Vera started packing, and Vera got sentimental about her lovely house, and told Molly she didn't want it changing. In fact, the Duckies are planning to leave a lot of their stuff behind. Tyrone was thrilled, because he likes a bit of tradition, but Molly wasn't pleased as she's been perusing interior design magazines. But Molly is a nice girl and kept quiet so as not to upset Vera.

Vicky has arranged to have a knicker party at Janice's flat. The factory girls are all quite excited, but you'd think the last thing they'd want to look at in their free time would be knickers. Coals to Newcastle, as they say.

And, as an aside, we heard that Lauren was out on a date with Darryl Morton. When did that happen? Did I miss something?

Bit strange that Vicky is organising a knicker party, why not Tupperware or Ann Summers? Why couldnt she have it at her home?

Is Michelle's handwringing ever going to end, this story and Ryan's deadpan face is boring me to death!

ON friday vera dies, do you think that Jack should leave has well. Look at poor roy since hayley left, he never in it and when he is in the show he looks lost. Friday will be end of best couple in the show Jack and Vera, apart from steve and karen, do you think we find another interesing couple in the show. I was reading the corrie blog some people are fed up with liam and carla storyline, already maybe one of them should leave the show.

Darryl was sort-of chatting Lauren up a few weeks after she arrived. But other than that, nothing happened.
