Yay or nay - Are you feeling sorry for Sean?

Comments (15)

Welcome to that little corner of the week (if weeks have corners) where you can vote on the big Coronation Street issues. Last week we asked, Are there too many Corrie minxes? and the response was a unanimous "Yay." Debo summed up the mood: "I think what's happening with Rosie is a real shame: she is supposed to be very intelligent (especially with math) and educated, and yet has ended up in a factory flashing her boobs at older men!"

Sean3.jpgNot so long ago, Sean Tully was the subject of a Yay or Nay regarding his selfishness, and I'd like to return to him again this week. His comment in Sunday's episode about the baby, that, "I already love him. I didn't know I would, but I do," fair broke my heart, but on the other hand he's been his usual Sean-centric self during Violet's pregnancy and has upset her a lot. So please click the comments link and let us know: Are you feeling sorry for Sean, yay or nay?

And remember you can vote Yay or Nay across some of the other Shiny sites at Catwalk Queen, Dollymix, Kiss and Make Up, The Bag Lady, Shoewawa, Trashionista, Shiny Shiny, Hippy Shopper and Bridalwave

NAY!!!!! I perhaps would be if Antony Cotton put in a convincing performance but I think he is vastly over rated and over used by Steve Frost. I feel sorry for Violet for having such a selfish supposedly "best" friend and sorry for Jenny Platt who has to act opposite Antony Cotton as she contnually acts him off the screen!

Absolutely, totally, 100% selfish that's Sean, he's not thinking about Violet, or his son's future, or even Marcus. It's all me me me with him, and I suspect he's that way in real life too.

I agree with you Mark, not only is Antony Cotton being acted off the screen by Jenny Platt, but also the newly arrived Charlie Condou.

Yay, I don't like the Sean Tully character or Antony Cotton much either, but I do think Violet lead him on a bit. I like Marcus(Charlie Condou) also, its too bad he's in the middle of all this

Nay, not feeling sorry at all. Hate the character at the moment.

Nay.

We mustn't forget that Violet is very lucky to be pregnant at all. Because of her ectopic pregnancy it was said she may never carry full term. Sean should be happy for her, instead he is making the whole thing into a nightmare. The stress alone could be dangerous. Some friend.

If Sean wants to have a baby with Marcus (of whom he has known 5 minutes and has never given his opinion on it) there are lots of women who could be surrogates.

Sean is incredibly selfish. Violet hasn't changed - Sean has.

I don't want to comment either way on Antony Cotton or his performance, but this storyline will do him no favours.

Yay, although Anthony Cotton can barely be described as a brilliant actor, I think he's doing better in this storyline than before and I think Violet is being a COMPLETE COW to him.

Feel sorry for Sean? Nay! Though this vote should not count as we have not seen this story in Canada yet. That said if Sean stays in character, there is very little to find appealing in him.

Also from Canada, I cannot comment properly on the baby storyline; however I'm gonna say Yay, I like Sean! From what I read here on Corrieblog, Violet is being horrible and why is it as father he should be denied attachment to his child even if he is just a donor, as Violet now has decided. I am probably off target but I find Violet a bland little person, not overly well acted by Jenny Platt. Anyway...this post and $1.25 would get you a cup of coffee, lol.

No. Sean is trying yet again to ruin another life, Violet's and Jamie's. He is all me, me ,me and it is only his happinesss that counts and no one elses. He needs to go.

Nay Sean know the score he can't change his mind now just because he found out that this baby is a boy.

NAY!!
anthony cotton can't act for the life of himself!!!and it's through that story line i've noticed this!!Violet has every right to deny him and for some reason sean can't let her be happy!

Unfortunately I say YAY and NAY. They both went into this with their eyes wide open and I don't think they expected her to get pregnant. But now that she is you can't fault Sean for having feelings for the child. If he was totally unfeeling and distant people wouldn't like that either. So for this I'm on the fence - and it hurts.

Yay. How come everybody says nay? he's a nice chap and just is excited. I feel sorry for him. He didn't realise it at the time but Sean really wants to be a part of this baby boy's life. He's gay and he's never going to have any children of his own so he feels this is the only oppertunity he'll have in his life to be a father, a biogical one. I think Violet is a big snob in this situation. I also feel sorry for Marcus, getting wrapped in the middle of this.

NAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Violet had no idea she was going to get back with Jamie when she asked Seán to be the doner.Voiet has the right to do what she wants! I feel sorry for Seán in the way that she should et him get to know his son.
I WILL MISS VII SO MUCH!!!

Yay :(
In the beginning, before she got back with Jamieboy, she led Sean on into thinking that he was going to be a Father to the baby and let him get involved.
Then, as soon as Jamie came along, she pushed him away.
Sean has rights because he isn't just an anonymous donor, so he clearly cares and wants to be in the child's life.
Jamie, on the other hand, has no rights whatsoever and shouldn't be trying to take over.
I never saw any of his sperm swimming around near Violet 9 months ago!
