The Star today reports that, when Vera shuffles off this mortal coil next year, the blue and yellowish stone cladding that she was so proud of on her house won't be far behind. The cladding has been a familiar landmark in Coronation Street since 1989, but when Tyrone and Molly buy the house, Molly decides the whole house needs a complete makeover, outside and in.
And we may all be given a chance to own a piece of Corrie history, as the Star's Corrie insider says: “It was decided that when [Vera] goes, the cladding should go as well. There has already been one suggestion that it could be auctioned off for charity.”
I'm glad to hear that it might be availablefor auction. What a great way to own a piece of TV history. Count me in!!

It would be great if Tyrone and Molly made it to their fiftieth anniversary. I think they are too late as Vera was only 17 or 18 when she got married to Jack... I think. Tyrone and Molly are too late!!

"Faux stone cladding auction" - what a great idea. Maybe by the square foot or square inch so there is enough of go around. Wouldn't want fake faux cladding now would we! Hope the proceeds go to a charity of Liz Dawn choice.
Molly is right, the place surely needs a makeover. I think Molly could go a very long way on Coronation Street, given the chance. To me, she personifies the street much more than Carla et al.
Well I am glad it may go to a charity...hopefully to a anti-smoking one in honor of Liz Dawn's disease. I will miss the blue cladding...I always look for it when I am watching Corrie...
