Liz (Beverley Callard) is stunned when Steve (Simon Gregson) reveals that Jim’s (Charles Lawson) been released from prison. She’s anxious that he's going to ruin the wedding and despite Steve's assurances that his dad has changed and has even promised to stay away from the pub, she's not convinced. As they arrive back on the street, Liz is horrified to find Jim about to enter the Rovers. Steve's furious with him and it’s clear that Liz is shaken. Has she seen the last of her ex?

Liam’s (Rob James-Collier) been playing detective and paid a visit to Tony’s (Gray O'Brien) house, but despite his lack of success he’s determined to keep digging for dirt on him.

Sunday, December 2 continued..

Meanwhile, Maria’s (Samia Smith) worried about Liam’s equivocal reaction to her pregnancy news and sensing that he’s not keen on having a child with her, she tells him she doesn't want to have a baby with someone who doesn't want it and is going to have an abortion. Liam agrees but Maria is clearly doubtful. Will she go through with it? Will Liam change his mind?

It’s Doreen’s (Barbara Young) decision day and she's shocked when Norris (Malcolm Hebden) approaches her in the pub to tell her that he’s withdrawing his offer and doesn't want to get married. However, later as everyone waits to hear her decision, Doreen drops the bombshell that she's changed her mind and doesn't want to get married after all.

Elsewhere, Ryan (Ben Thompson) sees the car that’s been following him outside the pub and Violet (Jenny Platt) reveals to Jamie (Rupert Hill) that she lied about the loan. He's angry and asserts they must pay Sean (Antony Cotton) back as soon as they can. Will they be able to pay Sean off so easily?

This episode is written by Peter Whalley, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Illy.

Liam (Rob James-Collier) is stalking Tony (Gray O'Brien) outside his house again when Tony's ex, Lindsey (Susie Amy), approaches demanding to know what he's up to. Liam claims he's just checking up on Tony seeing as he's involved with both his business and his family

As Lindsey proceeds to rant bitterly about Tony’s obsessive behaviour, Liam realises he's found the evidence he was looking for and heads back to the street to tell Carla (Alison King). As he relates what he’s heard to a furious Carla, claiming that he’s just looking out for the business, she angrily asserts that this is all about his own jealousy. Liam scoffs at the idea but when she suggests that he concentrate on his own relationship as he isn't going to get anywhere with her, he's enraged and marches out of the factory and straight into the salon and proposes to Maria (Samia Smith). Will she accept?

Liz (Beverley Callard) is on tenterhooks about Jim (Charles Lawson) but is adamant that her wedding should go ahead as planned. However, it’s clear that Jim’s presence has unsettled both her and Vernon (Ian Reddington) and with Jim's assertion that he wants to be around his family, will everything go according to plan?

Elsewhere, new bookies - father and son, Harry (Jack Ellis) and Dan (Matthew Compton) - have arrived on the street. Dan's chasing up debts and when he arrives in the cab office looking for Lloyd (Craig Charles) claiming he owes £400, cheeky Lloyd pushes his luck and claims he's never heard of him. But Harry and Dan don't seem the type to be duped easily. Will they let Lloyd get away with it?

Maria’s (Samia Smith) shocked as she takes in Liam’s (Rob James-Collier) sudden proposal and the news that he wants to keep the baby. She's unsure about whether to accept but as Liam allays her fears about his sudden change of heart she finally says yes. Meanwhile, Carla (Alison King) has refused Tony’s (Gray O'Bien) offer of a night out claiming she’s not in the mood and goes straight to No. 7 to speak to Liam.

When he tells her about his engagement to Maria, she's stunned. Carla's clearly distressed by the news but covers her feelings and congratulates him before calling Tony to tell him she’s changed her mind she is up for a night out after all. Will Carla and Liam face up to their feelings? Who will they hurt along the way?

Over in Roy's Rolls, David (Jack P Shepherd) is eager to cause trouble between Jason (Ryan Thomas) and Sarah (Tina O'Brien), and steals Becky’s (Katherine Kelly) phone to send flirtatious texts to Jason. When he receives the message and giggles to himself, Sarah bristles and continues to cross examine Jason over the texts. Will David succeed in breaking up the newly weds?

Steve (Simon Gregson) gets off to a bad start with the new bookies when Harry (Jack Ellis) attempts to steal his staff and later in the pub he catches Dan (Matthew Compton) flirting with Michelle (Kym Ryder) in the pub. Meanwhile, Lloyd (Craig Charles) is still dodging Dan and is reluctant to pay off his debt.

Eileen’s (Sue Cleaver) hopes for a romantic evening with Jerry (Michael Starke) are dashed when she discovers that they’re staying in with the kids. She breaks it to Jerry that she’s not looking to be mother but just wants a bit of fun and thinks they should call it a day.

David (Jack P Shepherd) steals Jason's (Ryan Thomas) phone and casually hands it to Sarah (Tina O'Brien) saying he found it in the street, knowing perfectly well that Sarah wont be able to resist the temptation of looking at it.

As David sends messages to it from Becky's phone, Sarah gets more and more curious and finally cracks and starts to read them. She's devastated to see the flirty texts from Becky and confronts a bemused Jason. Jason’s annoyed that she won’t believe his protestations but is dumbfounded when he sees the messages on his phone. Will Sarah believe him?

In Underworld, Liam (Rob James-Collier) is more bothered than he's letting on when Carla (Alison King) tells him she and Tony (Gray O'Brien) are closer than ever. Later in the pub, when Maria (Samia Smith) announces she's pregnant, Carla’s stunned and struggles to paint on a smile. Masking her feelings she tells Liam she’s pleased for him but makes a point of getting physically closer to Tony as everyone congratulates the newly-engaged couple. Carla and Liam both appear to be happy with their partners, but Liam's struggling to take his eyes off Carla. Are either of them truly happy?

After Lloyd (Craig Charles) breaks his promise to pay his debt to the bookies, Dan (Matthew Compton) decides to teach him a lesson and pinches his cab. Lloyd's in the middle of reporting the theft when Dan shows up with the keys, but is annoyed when Harry (Jack Ellis) undermines him by giving Lloyd his keys back and telling him to pay them back by the end of the week. Dan's appeased when Harry assures him that Lloyd wont get off so lightly if he doesn't pay up this time.

Elsewhere, Jack (William Tarmey) and Vera (Elizabeth Dawn) tell Paul (Tom Hudson), Molly (Vicky Binns) and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) that they’re leaving the street and moving to Blackpool. All three of them are shocked by the news, but Paul’s worry stems from his fear about the loan he’s taken out on the house that they now need to sell. Will Jack and Vera finally discover that their grandson has taken advantage of them?

David (Jack P Shepherd) is delighted that tensions are high between Sarah (Tina O'Brien) and Jason (Ryan Thomas) as she refuses to believe he didn’t send the messages to Becky (Katherine Kelly). Pleased his plan is working, he decides to stir things up even more and sends another provocative message from Becky’s phone.

When Jason receives the message Sarah's furious to see it's from Becky and storms into the café to sort her out once and for all. A cat fight between the two girls ensues. As Becky swears that she didn't send the messages and lost her phone days ago, Jason realises who's behind it. He arrives in the salon to explain everything to a sceptical Sarah, and when David arrives in the salon, Jason rings Becky's phone and Sarah's furious to hear it ringing in David's pocket. Dastardley David's been caught out this time but will he give up on his mission to destroy their marriage?

After seeing the same car following him on the way to school again, Ryan (Ben Thompson) feels nervous and heads back to the pub telling Michelle (Kym Ryder) he’s ill. Dismissing his complaints as an attempt to skive, Michelle sends him back to school but is puzzled when she gets a concerned phone call from his teacher informing her that he’s been leaving early and arriving late. After confronting Ryan he admits to his mum that he thinks he’s being followed, will Michelle believe her son?

Kirk (Andrew Whyment) gives Liam (Rob James-Collier) some fatherly advice. Maria’s touched when she discovers that Kirk has approached Liam (dressed in a suit!) to speak to him about his intentions towards his sister.

Elsewhere, the bookies clamp Lloyd’s (Craig Charles) car after he fails to repay his debt. Will he cough up before they take more drastic action?

Yes, Jim does look younger, and I don't think he's the same Jim since 2003 because he doesn't want to go in the slapper again. I love the snapshot of Jason and Sarah attacking David. I would really like my fists and claws into David and give him what he deserves!
