It's been about six weeks since we saw the back of Cilla, heading for Las Vegas. I wondered what Cilla's fate would be. Would she make a success of it? Would she fall flat on her backside? Would she be running scams and chasing fellas like always? Would she be pining for Chesney and rainy Weatherfield in the winter? Is she staying out of the sun so she won't get skin cancer again? I was at the British show this weekend in Hamilton Ontario, and got to meet Wendy Peters. She was absolutely charming! She really couldn't have been nicer and spent a few minutes with each person who stopped for an autograph. She talked to people like she had known them for years. What a star!
I asked if she would be going back and she told me there were no immediate plans. She said she really just needed a break but added it would be easy to write her back in.
I also have to add that she looks 15 years younger and 50lbs thinner in person as well.

Thanks for letting us know! I have seen photos of Wendi all dressed up for events and she really is pretty!
Cilla would probably gamble all her money away and end up with another Les! I doubt she would miss Chesney, unlike Wendi who misses Sam loads already.
Like Alan, I was also at the show on the weekend. Wendi was wonderful and looked fabulous. She was so pleasant, chatty and down to earth. When you see them like this, it makes you realize what a great acting job they do. I could have chatted to her all day! I asked her if she missed Corrie and she said 'no, but I do miss the people, they were great.'
Wendi left Canada after the Sunday show and is filming a quiz show in England today with Jayne Tunnicliffe. (Yana). They are best friends off screen too.

oooh, thank you deborah for the wonderful pics! i was unable to attend the british show, and felt so bad everytime i saw the adverts for it...cilla is a lovely lady; you're right alan, she does look very different as 'herself'...
i bet she is a nice person, she looks it doesn't she?
she's one of the characters i will miss.

charity missions, appearances, pantos and it seems a possible change of direction for wendi peters now as well...
