National TV awards - time to vote!

Comments (6)

NTAS.jpg Nominations have been announced for this years National Television Awards, and you can make your vote count here.

Coronation Street is in line for Most Popular Serial Drama. It would be fantastic if Corrie was to add this award to the Inside Soap Award and British Soap Award which they won already this year.

One of the nominations for Most Popular Actress is the marvellous Sue Cleaver (Eileen). She's up against Freema Agyema from Doctor Who, and Lacey Turner and Kara Tointon of Eastenders. Antony Cotton again receives a nomination, for Most Popular Actor. The competition in this category is David Tennant (Doctor Who himself), Charlie Clements of Eastenders and James Sutton from Hollyoaks. Finally, in the Most Popular Newcomer category, Kym Ryder (Michelle Connor) will battle it out against Gemma Merna (Hollyoaks), Joseph Gilgun (Emmerdale) and Jo Joyner (Eastenders).

The ceremony will be held in the Royal Albert Hall at the end of the month, and voting closes on 31 October. Don't forget that Corrie's sponsor, Harvey's, is offering you a chance to be at the Awards ceremony in person in a competition on its website.

I WANT FERNE TO WIN! X

It's time to nail all this rubbish about Antony Cotton "playing himself"!

It was a throwaway remark he made in an interview ages ago. He's said in more recent interviews (and Jennie MacAlpine said the same) that Sean and Antony couldn't be more different

Anyone who's actually watching in an unbiased way would see that the Sean/Violet baby storyline has been really good.

(I agree that Jack P Shepherd has been fantastic tho')

I went to vote and was disappointed with the choices in some categories, especially 'best actor'. Why is Anthony Cotton always being put up? He's nice enough, but it hardly takes great acting skills to play yourself. Whereas, Rupert Hill acted his part brilliantly in the Frankie, Jamie, Danny story. Also Jack P Sheppard is outstanding as evil David.

...........and how long is Antony Cotton going to be nominated for "everything going"?

  • Laura

How long is Kym going to keep getting nominated as "best newcomer"?
