Got a Coronation Street question?

Comments (27)

question_mark.jpgI was looking through my Coronation Street books with an eye out for potential trivia quiz questions when I had an idea. I'm sure loads of fans including you, dear Corrieblog readers, have questions and inquiries that they would like answered. Perhaps it's trivia, perhaps it's a point in a storyline you've forgotten, or maybe you want to know about someone or something that happened before you started watching the show. Leave a comment here or email me and I will incorporate your question into a trivia quiz or feature the question and answer in a blog of it's own if there's more explanation needed.

Were scenes of Edna Gee's death in 1975 ( walking into the store room at the Warehouse fire) actually shown of were they just the scenes of the residents learning of her death while taking cover at another pub?? also what ever happened to the actress Mavis Rogerson who played Edna? there hasn't been much information over the years on Edna Gee or Mavis Rogerson

Did I miss what happened to Linda Sykes(?)-the woman who was married to Mike Baldwin and disappeared? I'm often away and I don't know if that was dealt with or never mentioned again. Glad to get the chance to ask, thanx.

Jacqueline Chadwick who played Linda left Corrie after getting pregnant and ran out at Fred Elliot's and Eve's (her Mum) wedding after a row with Mike (I forgot what it was about).
Anyway, for the last couple of episodes, she had a double playing her as she left for maternity leave.

Just a comment:

It was said that Hilda's geese originally belonged to Elsie. I have just started the 1960's DVD set and noticed that they first appeared in Linda Cheveski's house above her fireplace. I have yet to see if they end up on Elsie's wall.

Thanks, Matthew, but was her disappearance ever resolved on the show? I wondered if she might show after Mike died. Might have made things even more interesting.

I ask again, does anyone know if there was an explanation given regarding Linda's whereabouts?

Wasn't it her mom or Karen who mentioned she ended up in Scotland?

As I cannot find any other way to SOMEHOW send a message to the Editor of this website, I am sending it this way - as a question and a comment. Why can I not see a "Contact the Editor" anywhere on the site? Does anyone know the address? If it's there I can't see it. And I don't want to spend any more time searching every little nook and cranny to find it. Grrr.

This site was once a favourite of mine, as I am a devoted Canadian Corrie fan. However, the site is now a confusing pile of advertising and COMPLETELY unrelated Corrie stuff with bits of Coronation street squeezed in. I don't have time to wade through all of that junk. Corrie.net was simple, easily accessed and perfect for BUSY PEOPLE!!

When it died I moved to this site and have had it as my home page for quite a while, but I'll put something else up as my home pager for now. It is slow to load, is chock full of annoying, blinking advertisements and I feel annoyed every time I see it in the morning before I start work.

I think this site has become a HUGE advertisemnt for Shiny Media. Their "mandate" to make sure all their links are there to entice people to their other sites and it feels as if they are spreading all over the place and suffocating Corrie info. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way!

Margaret - Thanks for your comments. I've replied to you by email.

I agree with Margaret, i love this site and all but I think all these advertisments and links on this website by Shiny Media have ruines it... a bit. No offence but it looks like it's Shiny Media has taken over with these links to websites. Please don't take it as offence.

By the way, Margaret I contacted Sue perfectly. On the homepage down a bit you can see Sue's name.

On wikipedia it says that it has been announced that Frankie Baldwin will be returning to the cobbles in summer 2008, accompanied with Maya Sharma and Sunita Alahan, but its too early to say what the Corrie scriptwriters have planned for this shock return. Anyone know if this is true???

Molly - I just had a look at Wikipedia and there isn't anything about that on the Debra Stephenson page, so maybe they changed it. I haven't heard of any plans to bring her back, and the thought of Maya coming back sounds a bit far-fetched, but Corrieblog will keep you well up to date with any Corrie comings and goings.

On Frankie Baldwin page on Wikipedia it says at the bottom she'll be returning... Martin Platt is also coming! Sue's right though Sunita Alahan coming back with her killer, and Frankie well... she saw the fire in 2004. I forgot but I'm sure the gossipers on the street let out the Maya started the horrible fire in 2004

Did Violet and Shaun actually have sex or or did Violet get pregnant ?

Diane - Violet and Sean did the deed with a turkey baster (or rather, Violet did). They tried to take the "natural" approach, but Sean couldn't go through with it.

Can somebody please tell me the title of the song playing in the background when Gail Platt and Joe were having a conversation about him moving permanently into her house? I only got a few words "and I wish I" - it's driving me mad not knowing! Episode was broadcast Friday 16th Jan 2009. Many thanks!

Sandy, the song at the very end when Gail and Joe were talking about him moving in is Your Song by Elton John

In tonights episode of Coronation Street, when David Platt was lying on the sofa what is the title track of the song called and the band name.
