Blimey O'Reilly! It's Wednesday and time for another Yay or Nay. Last week's Yay or Nay was almost too close to call, and by just one or two additional NAY votes, most think that Claire should make Ashley suffer.
This week we're speculating over whether Sean Tully is the most selfish person on Coronation Street. After the debacle at the hospital last Friday, Sean seems only to be bothered about himself, his lovelife, 'his child' and not poor Violet. Does Sean think of himself too much, or is he as saintly as they come? Go, on, vote Yay or Nay!

I think Sean's just excited to have met someone new. The trouble is though every time he has a relationship he goes over the top with it all. Hopefully this relationship will develop slowly into something that will last.
Yes, I definitely think he is too selfish. Although I don't think he has always been like this. When he first arrived on the street, I thought he came across as a kind, caring and selfless person. But in the last couple of years, he's been very me, me, me. I always remember when he told Michelle the truth about him and Sonny and he said, "please don't hate ME" and then whined to the factory girls about how HIS life is ruined, with no thought for poor Michelle!

Yay - but this is probably the lead up to Violet turning to Jamie for some TLC, unfortunately.

Sean tried his very best to make Violet think carefully about this (did you not watch the picnic etc?)
If anyone's selfish it was Violet with her
"I want a baby and I don't care what I do to get one"
This venom against Sean is ridiculous
And he did NOT show a lack of interest in the baby; his expression when he first saw the scan was one of wonder
And it's rubbish to say he never thinks about anyone but himself
He's tried to help Jamie;
He was the only one who expressed any sympathy for Leanne
He was the only one who had any sincere sympathy for Carla when Paul was killed
Yes, he's camp; yes he's sometimes over the top; but he has a heart that some people (for whatever reason) choose to pretend isn't there!

At least I try to give some sort of evidence to what I say, unlike those who just say Yeah he's selfish
I'd say....based on the shows we've seen (in Canada we're in mid December) that it's a NAY....
If the corrie writers have made Sean out to be selfish they are doing a complete 360 to the character. Sean used to be one of the most caring people....(I HATE when the Corrie writers turn individuals from white to black...like Ashley) BOO, Hiss.
I agree with the comment about not liking it when the Corrie writers turn individual's character from white to black. To me, one of the strengths for Corrie has been the ability to keep it more real and when there is a big shift in character it loses that link.
