Corrie Odd Couples

Sometimes when two people on Coronation Street get together, you find yourself shaking your head and thinking "Wow, what an odd couple!" I don't mean odd as in the characters' personalities. Let's face it, Roy and Hayley as individuals are, erm, unique, but together they are a perfect fit and not an odd couple at all. I am also not thinking of couples that are just plain wrong (like Mike and Linda, Martin and Katy or, briefly, Deirdre and Dev). I mean couples that you would never have thought to put together but which actually worked quite well, at least for awhile. Couples that struck me as odd in the past but which worked included Alec and Bet Gilroy, Ashley and Maxine, Duggie and Sunita and Janice and that copper, Mick. Liz and Vernon seem to me to be an odd couple, too. I just can't understand how she can put up with his feckless ways.

This led me to wondering which couples you would put together if you could scramble the characters we are seeing now or in the recent past should one or both return.

Some of the couples i came up with are:
Dev and Leanne (no, really, I think it could work!)
Becky and Paul Clayton
Lloyd and Eileen
