According to The Sun, Coronation Street's favourite transsexual Hayley Cropper will fall victim to an horrific attack at the hands of her long lost son. When Hayley finds out that she fathered a child twenty years ago, she hires a private detective to find her son, Christian, and pretends to be his aunt. As we would expect from Hayley, she cannot lie for long and decides to confess the truth when she invites Christian to what is billed as a 'remote beauty spot'. On hearing the truth about his parentage, Christian cruelly lashes out. ITV sources describe that: 'It's a pretty gruesome scene - and there is plenty of blood.' No chance of Hayley's son being a nice lad, eh? [Ben]

I feel sorry for poor Hayley
I really hate this. There's no need of it at all. Unless of course it ends up being one smack in the face, totally exaggerated by the press. Not that there's any need of that either.

Well it hardly looks like "vicious" and "blood everywhere". That kind of description is more like what Jez Quigley did to Steve McDonald. this is still clearly an assault but looks more like a swift punch in the face or even pushed down onto the ground. If this lad really does assault Hayley like that, he should be arrested but of course she won't do that will she.
I am starting to dislike this story even more. I don't want to begin a debate on 'nature VS nurture' but how are we supposed to believe that Hayley/Harold would involve themselves with someone who would raise a violent child?
Oh dear.
What could have been an interesting storyline, handled sensitively is just another excuse to create violence and hated. Much like what you see in the newspapers and TV.
You must do better Corrie writers. Cilla's banter with the old feller in tonight's episode was hilarious. More of that, and less of th story above and 'Mad David Platt'.

I'm guessing you're right, Annie. I know the press and even Granada's media releases blow it all out of proportion. Just going by the photo in the Sun, it hardly looks like a violent attack. I thought from the start it would probably be a good storyline because roy and hayley ones usually are, and usually handled very well.
I like the idea of this storyline, Christian might not be so bad, I mean hes lived his life wanting to meet his dad, then he learns his dad is now a woman

Pathetic. The whole concept of Haily having a child as a man is sordid anyway, now its just an excuse for a violent sensationalist story. These writers need to be fired and quick.
What nonsense. So she got a bloody nose and a bruised cheek: this is a 'horrific attack'? (It's 'a horrific', not 'an horrific' - unless you are a sad person desperately and incompetently trying to sound posh; oh, dear ...).
