I was reading a preview in the Mirror for last night's show. It mentioned that it seemed odd that Casey would want Claire's humdrum life when she could have gone for one a bit more exciting, like Maria's, for example. It got me thinking that this type of story has been portrayed in the movies and television before and quite often it is about someone trying to replace the wife of a family. It seems to be the stability that these disturbed women crave, the normality of a loving husband and children to fill up something that's lacking in their own lives. When we met Casey, we were told that she lost her own baby which is bound to have a detrimental effect. I'm surprised they haven't referred back to that at all yet, actually as Casey gets her hook in deeper and deeper, maybe accidentally calling Freddie by the name of her baby. I wonder if the writers have forgotten that?

We haven't had the Casey story in Canada yet, and I must say I am not looking forward to it. Does this woman not have a job or a home, or a husband? All she seems to do (judging by the updates) is stalk Ashley.
Nothing has been referred back to because no one actually 'knows' that anything is going on.
So, as she has lost her own child, that must mean that there is a boyfriend/husband somewhere in the picture. But where is he? There has been no reference to him or any of her family. Surely someone would notice if she disappears from home for days at a time.
Not necessarily. Could be a single mum or living away from where she has family. I just find it odd that there's not been any more mention of it, even between Claire and Casey since that's how they met. Whether it's true or not. Casey could have been using that for sympathy to get in closer.
Log came from the tree. So she must be missing Branch by now.
Lol at Log
K.C did mention she had a boyfreind, but she left him because he couldnt understand why K.C was so upset
In one episode, when she was with Claire, she did talk about it!
I think she said her ex-boyfriend's name was Rob
She definitely said that she'd had to pretend nothing had happened; that she was OK and that she would "try again for a baby another time"
She'd done everything her ex-boyfriend's way; but he dumped her anyway
It was in an episode not long ago!
What everyone's forgetting is that after Fred died last year he left Ashley and Clair quite well off having owned the Rovers, the butchers shop and two houses. So it's quite possible that KC (her real name) wants to be with Ashley for his money and not just his family. But she does seem to want a ready-made family but a well-off one is all the more attractive. It was KC who set fire to the house to kill Clair but she took Freddie away first and for safety because, to her, Freddie is her baby.
Did Fred have two houses when he died? Two business, yes but I thought he sold his house when he bought the Rovers and had yet to make a purchase of a retirement home. #4 he gave to Ashley and Maxine when they married so that was not his anymore either. Granted for a relatively young man, Ashley is well off.
I think you're right Pearl. He'd given Maxine and Ashley Number 4 and i don't know if the purchase of the house in the country had gone through. He did sell his old house to buy Eve Sykes the Rovers when he married her. He'd just sold the Rovers too. Ashley would have got the proceeds from that as well as getting the butcher shop and any other money Fred had invested aside from anything he might have given to his sister.
I am not sure I will be enjoying this storyline when it arrives on CBC. It seems to me that the writers need to find a better storyline instead of making women on the street "mad" etc. I feel that they are making fun or taking mental health not that seriously over there! First they did the Claire storyline which was good but then they take the mick out on Claire and her mental state when they interrogate her on the witness stand during Tracy's trial!
I think the writers seem not to want to give the females on the street very stories etc. They seem lazy and sexist.

I emailed them to say I thought the KC/Ashley/Clare story was appallingly dull.
