It's summer! Well, somewhere. It's been raining on and off here in my part of Canada for most of it and from what I've heard, the UK isn't faring much better. I think we need a bit of sunshine and summer holiday snaps to cheer us all up. Here's one I found of Elsie Tanner in a glam swimming cossie. Ah yes, the beach, the seaside! Sand, waves, pleasure piers with loads of entertainment, silly hats and a little stick of Blackpool or Brighton rock.
Blackpool is a favourite holiday spot for our friends in Weatherfield. Have you ever been there, dear readers? Maybe a foreign holiday is more to your taste?
What about Spain, Greece or the Algarve where you can bask in the sun and sip cocktails by the pool or beach? North Americans love to go to various islands in the Caribbean for their tropical holidays. Don't forget your sunscreen, a big had and your sunglasses, though! You won't enjoy the holiday if you get a sunburn! Where's your favourite beach destination?
But not everyone likes to get away from it all and relax on a beach. Maybe a historic city like Paris or Rome strikes your fancy? Walking around old ruins, fancy shops or world famous attractions like the Eiffel Tower or the Collosseum, strolling the Champs Elysee or the Via Sistina enjoying La Dolce Vita! Big, busy cities like New York, Toronto, or London also attract many visitors. Or perhaps you'd like something more exotic like seeing the Great Wall of China or shopping for bargains in Singapore. What about a safari in Africa, seeing the rainforests of Queensland, Australia or trekking in the Andes? Tell us where your dream vacation would be, if money weren't an issue!

Every time I see that picture of Bet, Rita and Mavis in Blackpool it always makes me smile.
I wish you would send a little of your rain our way! Here in southwestern Ontario everything is parched and brown - I would just love to see some greenery!
Those are two good Corrie holiday photos - thanks!
I'm thinkiing visiting the 7 Wonders or the World - ancient, old and new might be a fantastic vacation, for me.
No holidays for me, although many years ago I visited Blackpool, in December, in the freezing cold and rain. Not at all pleasant. Did see the lights and the Corrie exhibit which was not open. If money was no object I would take the most luxurios mode of transportation available and go around the world for a year and see every continent. But as I only get a week of vacation every year I will have to put it off for a bit.
