Salford's terraces go topsy-turvy

C_71_article_1008394_image_list_image_list_item_0_image.jpgHow do you think Sally Webster would feel about having her kitchen moved upstairs? Or if Emily Bishop had to move her bathroom into her sitting room? According to the Manchester Evening News, two-up-two-down terraced houses in Salford have been turned into 'ultra modern living spaces', with bedrooms downstairs and living space upstairs. The report says that the houses in question were used for the original Corrie titles, and the development has seen the infamous smoking chimney pots being transformed into 'modern triangular shaped sky-lights' and the back yards and ginnel becoming a swate of balconies and decking. Do you think that Coronation Street could do with a bit of a facelift? Part of me thinks that 'ultra modern' won't really be suitable for Jack's pigeons. [Elsie Tanner]
