Harveys, the furniture store chain, is close to signing a deal with ITV to replace Cadbury as the sponsor of Coronation Street. Brand Republic reports that both parties are in final negotiations for the £10 million a year sponsorship package - thought to be the largest of its kind in Europe.
Oh well, I suppose furniture ads can only be better than eggstremely annoying chocolate ads like this. I wonder if they’ll do product placement and get their sofas (like this one pictured from their Salzburg range) into the Street houses?

Oh no. I had hoped there'd be a better sponsor than this. I just can't stand sofa ads on TV, and now it looks like they'll be four to watch every Coronation Street episode.
