Paul Duckworth returns to Corrie

terry%20duckworth.gifIf you cast your mind back to 1986 you’ll remember that Terry Duckworth had a son called Paul, with Andrea Clayton. Poor Jack and Vera never knew they had a grandson until Andrea turned up on their doorstep one November night in 2000 and explained that he would die unless he had a kidney transplant. Terry ‘volunteered’ to be a living donor and took £25,000 from Jack to keep the Duckie’s grandson alive but then scarpered with the cash and Vera gave her kidney to save the dying Paul. It wasn't the first time Terry tried to sell his kid either.

Well, Paul Duckworth is now 21 years old and will be returning to Coronation Street soon. Click through below for more.

Inside Soap magazine says that Corrie are currently looking for an actor to play the part of Paul Duckworth who’ll turn up on the Street to see his grandparents, Jack and Vera. I wonder if Corrie will make this new lad a bad ‘un, taking after dad Terry or whether he’ll be a bit more surprising, and therefore, more interesting? What do you think of Paul coming back?

    I question the comment that Jack and Vera never knew they had a grandson. They knew Andrea was pregnant with Terry's child when she left the street, and some time later, Jack searched out Andrea's father and he told him the child was a boy and that he was living with them. He warned Jack off so Jack lied to Vera, saying the child had been adopted, and there was no way of tracing him.

    Tommy was born in 1992 so he'd be 15 later this year. Paul Clayton was born in the mid 80's so he'd be in his very early 20's now, old enough for Sarah. Hmmmmmmmm Maybe that's how Sarah is going to leave the show? You heard this prediction here first!

    How old would he be now? Not long before the other grandson, Tommy, comes back as a teenager.

    Sounds good, hopefully they get a good actor to play him and not just a pin-up.

  • I hope that he is nice, but has a brain. There is a great tendency in Corrie to be very polar with the male characters and only have them as sexy bad lads or well-meaning nitwits.

    Hopefully, with a sensible mother like Andrea Clayton - and I seem to remember a virago of a grandmother - not to mention his health problems, he will turn out to be a nice young man

    I guess they have to put someone in the house with the Duckies if Molly and Ty are moving out. There's enough bad boys on the street now, i think, with David and the Morton tearaways but i suppose they'll probably do that anyway. It'll be nice for Vee to see her grandson though.
