Jack Duckworth gets a wheelchair

What with Vera’s bad foot, the Duckworths already look set for a poorly summer but it’s going to get worse when Jack does his back in. The Daily Star says that Jack does himself a mischief when he’s moving his pigeon coop and ends up in a wheelchair, stuck in the house with her indoors, his little swamp duck, Vera. And as you can imagine, the pair of them aren’t happy to be cooped up together in agony - so Jack tries to escape in his wheelchair to the pub! He tells Tyrone: “All there is for me to do in that house is listen to the ticking of the clock and our Vera passing wind”.
