Joanne Froggatt played Zoe Tattersall, the tragic teenage mum on Coronation Street more than a decade ago. Zoe’s baby died, she tried to commit suicide then joined the weird cult of Nirab! Since leaving Corrie, Joanne has been a regular telly fixture in dramas such as Bad Girls, Nature Boy, Island At War, The Street and Life On Mars (which is no stranger to Corrie stars appearing in it like this one and this one). She’s now starring as Joanne Lees in Murder In The Outback (ITV1, Sunday, 9pm). It tells the story of British backpacker Peter Falconio's 2001 murder and his girlfriend Joanne Lees' attempted abduction. You can read an excellent interview with Joanne here in the Manchester Evening News.

Joanne is an amasing actress. I never really realised how good she was when she was on Corrie. She has really had massive success ince leaving.
Here in Canada I have not seen any of the later stuff with Joanne Froggatt, which sounds impressive. When she was on the Street she was a very dismal character - she seemed to suck the life out of a scene. I was glad when she left the Street.
