Vernon the drummer has had something of a mixed reception since he started on the cobbles. I've loved the character since he joined Coronation Street, he's a bloke who's turned being feckless into an art form and could possibly be the new Jack Duckworth. I think he's a fantastic comic addition to the cobbles and hope the writers give him and Liz a big storyline soon. However, I know lots of other Corrie fans weren't as keen on Vernon as I was when he joined our favourite soap - but have your views changed now that he's settled into the Rovers with Liz?

I must say , he has grown on me lately and is less annoying and is actually funny, especially when he winds up Liz and Steve.

I'm reserving judgement for now. We haven't seen a whole lot of him yet over on this side of the pond.

Well i think he is a good character. Very watchable.

GASP...HE ACTUALLY DEVELOPS A RELATIONSHIP WITH GAIL, WHO FINDS IT REFRESHING TO BE WITH SOMEONE WHO SHE ALREADY KNOWS FOR HIS FAULTS, AND WANTS TO BE PART OF HIS NEW BETTER BEING LOL
Like many others, I didn't like him too much at first, but the writers have really started fleshing this character out. He's been brilliant in recent weeks, and his scenes with Steve and Liz have been outstanding.
I just think he's fantastic. I still can't believe there are people out there who aren't Vernon fans! ;-)
Completely agree with Sophie, and Sky Clearbrook. I really didn't like him when he first arrived, but now i think he is really funny, and he's certainly growing on me

He doesn't deserve to be behind that bar...not with past Rovers gents like Jack Walker, Fred Gee and Jack Duckworth...! He doesn't compare!
i think Vernon is one of the best characters in any of the soaps. He is funny and a bit of a scumbag and his face is brilliant. I hope he gets some big story lines this year.
Brilliant character, a total waster. I'd like his father to turn up, played by Syd Little.
the sad bit is a lot of us have had characters like vernon in our lives....
