Top 50 Countdown of Favourite Corrie Characters – No 47

No. 47 Alf Roberts What’s not to like about Alf Roberts? He was an honest man, a pillar of the community and Mayor of Weatherfield too.  Alf was played by Bryan Mosley and was part of Coronation Street from 1961 to 1999 when he died in an armchair at Gail Platt’s New Year's Eve party. Alf used to run the corner shop with his wife, Renee but after she died and he married Audrey the shop wasn't good enough for her (ooh!) and she persuaded him to sell it.
