No 35 Chesney Battersby-Brown Cute and cuddly Chesney Battersby-Brown is a little gem. Sam Aston who plays Chesney is a cracking actor, which really brings life to the little fella on the cobbles. And he loves his Great Dane, Schmeicel too. Passed from social worker to various “uncles” as a kid by horrid mum Cilla, Chesney keeps smiling on Coronation Street and was over the moon when step-dad Les Battersby adopted him and made him double-barrelled.
Most famous for: Turning out quite normal despite being raised by gorilla Cilla. Should Chesney be in our Top 50 list at No 35 – what do you think? Check our our Top 50 so far.

Chesney is a star! Every time Sam Aston comes on the screen, I know I'm in for a real treat. Good choice! I always know JP Shepherd as David is ACTING -- while I know that Chesney is ... well, CHESNEY. And as much as I love Ken, let's face it, William Roache is not the street's best actor is he? And surely good acting has to come into this. I suspect that is why David isn't on the top 50 list.

I know its very hard to pick a top 50, its all just a matter of opinion and I do respect your choices and am loving reading all this, even if I don't agree with it all.

Not sure who I would pick, I'd have to give it some thought

Andy, I agree it might be strange to some. But I had to think about who lit up the screen for me as a fan and I know my choices won't the same as loads of others. Has your favourite been on the list yet? Anyone you're hoping will be in the Top 10?
