Sherrie Hewson Returns to Coronation Street

Sherrie Hewson who played both Fred Elliot and Reg Holdsworth’s wife - although not at the same time - the wonderfully daffy Maureen, is returning to Coronation Street for a couple of episodes, says Digital Spy. Sherrie is due to start filming at the end of October and will be on screen at the end of December. I wonder what storyline is bringing her back? And I do hope she'll be back as Maureen and not as another character like this actress and this actress have done this year.

Lol Maureen is classic!! lol bring her back agian!! and make her and Aurdey fight on the cobbles!! (I think Maureen is ok for her age but she seems younger than Bill though!)

maybe maureen and fred never got divorced and she is coming back to put her "widows face" on and make a claim! she is a brilliant much underrated actress and her return is just what corrie needs!

I do like this actress and welcome her return, though she is inclined to make horrible faces and twist her mouth around like Cilla does, for comic emphasis. Let's hope one of them exercises some self control or Corrie will descend into Gurning Mania.

Thinking about this after I posted it, I wonder if she's coming back with Bill Webster (Kevin's dad) before he has his Christmas Day fling with Audrey?
