Monday Coronation Street – One Episode Or Two?

Comments (22)

Coronation_street_street_scene How do you feel about the two episodes of Coronation Street each Monday? I hate it with a vengeance and am all for going back to four episodes a week with only one on a Monday night. Some Corrie fans I speak to are all for keeping the two episodes in one night but I don’t see the point - and I’m wondering what the overall feeling is of Corrie fans on Corrieblog. Can you have too much of a good thing in one night?

I love corrie street, an half hour or an hour, would be fine, no repeats, everything else is repeats.....being in canada we are behind England, what's that about???

If it where up to me I would be happy with double episodes everynight...lol..so keep double episodes monday evening and keep sunday how it is. I could never get too much Cornation street

I agree with the Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule.

I Live in Canada and really enjoy Cornation Street - would miss it very much if discontinued.

  • Three phrases should be among the most common in our daily usage. They are: Thank you, I am grateful and I appreciate.

DIANE SHIPLEY's "...They expect too much of us!!..."

    Pathetic!!!

Watch when you want; switch off when you want - easy!

I say, "Bring it on six nights a week and how about repeating the whole lot from scratch - starting with episode one.

Personally, I think they should drop back to 3 episodes a week. They've watered down the drama far too much and I no longer find it as interesting to watch. Monday, Wednesday and Friday would be fine by me. There was a time when I would diligently set the video recorder for all episodes when I went on holiday - now I don't bother!

  • I look forward to Coronation Street on these nights, and if they only had a double bill on Monday SOMETIMES, then we would constantly have to check in the paper which would be annoying.

  • I think five episodes per week is just too much. As much as I love the show, it`s a rare week when I watch all five.

I feel that one episode every Monday, Wednesday and Friday was just right (it was a welcome move from the old Monday and Wednesday episodes - there was too long a gap from Wednesday until the following Monday).

The additional two episodes per week was another example of ITV`s sheer greed (see also Emmerdale five nights per week). It`s no wonder they`re finding themselves in so much trouble now.

i'm in southern ontario and for a while, we had eight half-hour episodes a week! plus they showed oll of the week's episodes in a row on sundays. we had to get up at 6 am and stay on the couch until 10 am! it was good for about the first week, and we're still 9 months behind. thankfully, we're back to 5 eps a week, a half hour every weekday.

I love the Corrie schedule - Monday night is a special treat. I say keep it.

I think the two eps is a good thing personally.

  • I too could watch it everyday. I'm happy with the schedual and wouldn't want it any other way.

  • Anonymous

I could and would watch it everday if it was on each day!

  • One of the things that made me stop watching, I'm afraid- they expect too much of us!! x

  • I love the corrie schedual. keep it!

  • Vince

I think drop sundays too - I rarely catch it and its a nightmare trying to catch up.

It would be nicer if Monday had the two shows together rather than the half hour gap - are they really that scared of eastenders? It'd be interesting to see who'd come out on top if it went head to head with EE!

I think they should only have 2 episodes on a Monday, if the stories require it, sometimes the 2nd episode is usually a normal episode. But I have to admit, I always look forward to the Corrie double bill on a Monday.

  • Paul

I would sooner get rid of the Sunday episode rather than the 2nd Monday edition. I've got too used to the 2 on Mondays it would feel incomplete if dropped.

  • Sue

I much prefer one episode on a Monday (or any other) night. Or perhaps an hour-long episode rather than 2 separate ones. As things are, the whole evening is taken up, I don't watch the programme in the middle, but it's not long enough a gap to go and do anything else.
