What's Your Least Favourite Street Story?

Comments (14)

Toyah_rape Here on Corrieblog we love Coronation Street. And I'm not about to knock my favourite soap... (can you tell there's a but coming?) ....BUT if you were pressed to answer this one, what has been your least favourite storyline over the years?  Anything you hated? Thought was a waste of space?  For this fan, I felt the 'whodunnit' aspect to the rape of Toyah Battersby was well out of order, and at the time, Corrie did come in for some stick from women's groups because they didn't offer a viewer's helpline after the traumatic episodes.  So that's this fan's grievance aired, what about yours?

I hated the whole Karen/Steve/Tracey malarkey. Any time Karen would open her big fat gob and yell, I would cringe. In fact, I took to taping Corrie and fast forwading past any scenes involving any of the above.

I didnt like the whole Sean Tully finding his dad thing. It was really boring and dragged on far too long. It changed Sean's funny character for the worst.

The return of Tracy Barlow with a new head, a new and vulgar personality, and the whole bottom-feeding storyline that followed - sleeping with Dev, pinching her granny's boyfriend, breaking up Steve and Karen, drugging Roy, selling her baby, dragging Steve to court etc etc etc. Give us a break. Send her off to a single mother's flat on an estate somewhere, preferably next to Sarah-Lavatory Platt - they can babysit for each other.

charlie thingimibob the builder *yaaaaaawn*

I agree with the Tracey Barlow comment. Also the story line that I hated (but there are so many unfortunatley) is the one where they turned Karen into a religious person due to her mothers death. That was just ridiculous. She stopped wearing make up, tried to be the perfect wifie, ......luckily it did not last long.

I thought the Karen/Steve/Tracey story was great!

The recent one that springs to mind for me was the boxing match with Fred + Ashley! I hated it and it almost turned me away from the soap!

Anything involving the Peacocks is a big bore. Ashley acts like a petulant child all the time and it really grates on my nerves.

The stuff with Kelly pleading guilty really grated with me. Couldn't watch it.

does anyone remember the episode in which ken barlow confesses to deirdre, that he had thought about taking a overdose?

as far as i can remember the script went like this...ken barlow...i didnt want me, you didnt want me, tracy didnt want me.

deirdre...oh ken i had no idea!
ken...looks at deirdre and says..i took a bottle of pills..pushed them around for a bit..with every intention....

i used to have that particular episode on tape but when i was in the process of moving address i threw it out with a load of other valuable tapes which i regret now.

there was also another episode in which don brennan talks to ivy about this young woman who is poor and is staying as a lodger with don and ivy.
the script was a absolute classic!
i remember recording that episode on audiotape which also was thrown out later which i regret.
anyway if anyone remembers those 2 episodes and can tell me the exact date they were broadcasted i would be grateful.

Oh God, i agree with the Ashley Peacock one.
That guy drives me mad!
Does anybody else find him soooo irritating?
With this whole Joshua's dad thing, its like "shut up winging for gods sake!"

let me think...let me think...maybe any storyline with Bethany Almost Mute Wont Stop Looking At Camera Crew Platt. except maybe when richard or brenda kidnapped her.

Does anyone remember Curly Watts becoming a square dealer and Fred m/c ing the initiation ceremony
classic
