Is Hayley Cropper turning into Jack Nicholson?

Well it's not yet a week since your ever on-the-ball Corrieblog asked which films our favourite characters should be starring in and Hayley goes and answers the question for us. Discussing the thankfully temporary blip that was Vera's sacking, she told Roy last night: "You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs." Too right Hayley, too right. I loved this line. Last heard nearly 20 years ago uttered by the gentleman to the left in Batman, it reminded me why I love Corrie so much. Is there really any other soap writing to touch this understated wit and pin-sharp observation? I think not. Long may it continue.
