Tim Healy is set to join Coronation Street, says The Sun today. Tim is the real-life husband of ex-Corrie actress Denise Welch who played Rovers landlady Natalie Barnes. He’ll turn up on the street as Sean Tully’s dad when the pair of them meet up at the funeral of Sean’s aunty. A Corrie insider told the paper: "Sean’s forced into making contact with his dad and it opens a whole can of worms. Brian doesn’t even know Sean is gay." Tim will be on Corrie from June 5 for seven episodes. The paper quotes him as saying: "I am thrilled to be joining the cast of Coronation Street. I have already been in to meet Antony. I appeared on the show in 1976 as a bingo caller in a scene with Hilda Ogden, so to come back 30 years later is fantastic." Tim played Dennis Patterson in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
