Well, what did YOU think of it? Here’s my tuppence worth, feel free to add your own!
BEST BIT: Soap Secrets. Finding out that since Elsie Tanner had a red telephone at Number 11, all the occupants of that house have had a red phone too. Eileen Grimshaw lives there now so be sure to watch out for that red phone next time you see her crying down the line to absent son, Todd. And finding out that the bureau and table and chairs in the Barlow’s dining room are the original bits of furniture in use since 1960!
CRINGE BIT: Tupele Dorgu and Ray Fearon (who play Kelly and Nathan) murdering jazz classic It’s A Wonderful World. However, I’ll forgive Tupele anything as she’s the most glamourous person to grace my telly in a long time. And as he’s a Shakespearean actor, Ray Fearon’s CV won’t be damaged by a couple of dud notes.
AUDIENCE BIT: Spotted the actor who played Aidan Critchley in the audience – could it really mean, as rumoured, that he’s returned to Corrie as the Hillman card sender, or what?
And the BIT I’D PAY TO SEE AGAIN would be....
.... Simon Gregson and Bev Callard (Steve and Liz McDonald) singing Sweet Child of Mine - properly. By which I mean that Bev was quoted in the Daily Mirror saying they normally do that song together “with a Jack Daniels in one hand and a fag in the other”. Now that, I’d pay to see.
So as well as Richard Fleeshman showing once again what an absolute star he was, singing and tinkling on the ivories, what were your favourite / worst bits?
My best bit was when Richard Fleeshman sang, at the start and when he did the duet at the end with Andy. i think Richard is so talented and he will go far singing as well as his acting. lv Rach xxx
