The Daily Star says that factory girl Kelly will set tongues wagging as lesbian lust rumours run wild in Coronation Street. The paper says that Kelly’s mates are convinced she's coming out of the closet when she shacks up with Becky. Kelly thinks nothing of it at first when Becky - who she knows from her time spent in care - treats her to a designer watch for her birthday. She doesn't realise her friend is obsessed with her and is desperately trying to worm her way into every aspect of her life to win her affections - in a re-run of stalking movie Single White Female.
The paper goes on to say that Kelly does begin to start wondering where their friendship is heading when Becky reveals that she's about to be thrown out of her flat for not paying the rent and will be forced to sleep on a park bench. Caring Kelly (Tupele Dorgu, 28) offers her a bed - and that sends the gossipmongers at the factory into overdrive. First off is loudmouth Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine, 21) who demands from Kelly: "Go on, tell us - is your mate a lesbian or what?" Panicking at the whiff of scandal she denies it outright - but the other machinists are not convinced. And even Kelly begins to ponder her motives when she realises how much of her life has been taken over by Becky (Katherine Kelly, 27). "Becky becomes fixated with her friend and wants to be at the centre of her life, " revealed a source. "It's just like the movie Single White Female. It goes on from the stage of stalking to complete infatuation."
