Corrie Couple Save Puppy

Here’s a little story from the Manchester Evening News that’ll warm the cockles of your heart and make you go ‘aaahh’. Ryan Thomas who plays Jason Grimshaw found a lost little puppy near Granada studios where Coronation Street is filmed.  (Have you gone ‘aaahh’ yet?). Ryan went home and returned with his girlfriend Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah Platt, and coaxed the puppy into his car. They then noticed that the pup had cigarette burns so they rang the Animals In Distress sanctuary, which took it in.  The paper says that staff were so impressed with the actor they called the pup Ryan - and the couple are now thinking about taking the animal on as a pet.  And it's not the first time that Tina's been involved in saving poorly pets.

Ryan said: "I'd like to have him but I can't promise anything."  Tina said: "How anyone could hurt a puppy I don't know? It's disgusting." Tina has now agreed to be the star attraction at a fund-raiser at the Irlam sanctuary on Silver Street on April 22.
