Sunita’s rushed to hospital when her contractions start. With Shelley by her side she wants the news kept from Dev but Fred feels it his duty, I say, he has to tell Dev his wife’s having babehs at th’ospital. At first Sunita won’t let Dev into the delivery room but she relents and he’s there in tears at the birth of her twins – a boy and a girl.
Emily and Ed pop into the Rovers for a quick one – these two are not so much binge-drinkers as beige-drinkers. Anyway, Emily invites Eileen to join them and Ma Grimshaw’s face lights up at the thought of a single man in the snug. Ed calls Eileen “one of God’s under-cover angels” and even Sean agrees it’s a fitting description although I’m sure Gail Platt would disagree.
Ken still can’t get on with Eccles the dog and reckons it’s the soul of Lena come back to haunt him via a shaggy coat and waggy tail.
And Carol getsh vereh, vereh drunk on corner shop voddy. She accuses Frankie of lusting after Jamie and in the middle of their argument, in walks Jamie back from his sojourn to Spain.
