Episode Review - Monday December 12

Corriestreet_32Keith’s a no-nonsense Yorkshireman with his emotion blunt-edged  so there’s no romance over breakfast with Audrey, there’s not even any breakfast. Blanche spots Audrey leaving Keith’s house wearing yesterday’s clothes (a lilac pullover) and spreads gossip in the Kabin.  Audrey and Keith silence the tittle-tattle when they tell everyone in the Rovers that they’re both happier than they have been in years, ah bless.
Gail and Eileen have a doorstep ding-dong when Gail finds out that Sarah spent the night there with Jason. Phil pulls Gail away from the heated row and tries to calm her but she takes the high moral ground - where the view’s always lovely but it’s always rather lonely.  Eileen tells Jason to play to his strengths and keep his relationship with strumpet Sarah shallow and meaningless.

Mike decides to have a bag check at the factory in order to finding the missing cheques.  The girls troops out for inspection and Janice is pronounced a right old bag.  Hayley hangs on to hers and makes a stand so Mike sacks her for her trouble.  But back the flat with Penny he can’t remember a thing about the trouble he’s had in the day.
Bev and Fred get dolled up and go out to the annual brewery ball and Eric the bookie takes Carol to the Clock for a meal.  He spends his time eyeing up another woman who turns out to be his soon to be ex-wife. Eric confesses he’s only seeing Carol to make his ex jealous so she throws the dinner on the floor and walks out.  I hope that Clock place has got good insurance, if it isn’t dinner on the floor, it’s smashed glasses and spilt bottles from one street resident or t’other.
