I’ve got loads of news about Corrie Christmas switch-ons for you this weekend. First off is that lovely little lad Chesney Brown aka Sam Aston, who’ll be leaving Weatherfield this weekend to switch on the Christmas lights at Lincoln’s Waterside Shopping Centre. The Lincolnshire Echo reports that Sam will be switching on the sparkle this coming Sunday, November 20. Sadly, he’ll be leaving Schmeichel at home but fortunately Cilla won’t be with him either, when he blings up the shopping centre at 4pm. It’s hoped that Sam will meet fans and sign autographs after the lights go on.
Next up is Kirkeh. After completing the Trials of Kirkules and kidnapping one of Blanche Hunt’s girdles, Kirk has offered to help out at a last minute event. Scarborough Today says that actor Andrew Whyment who plays Kirk Sutherland has offered to switch on the Scarborough Christmas lights when former S Club singer Jo O’Meara pulled out because her dad is poorly. You can see Kirkeh do the honours in what I reckon to be the best seaside town in Britain, this weekend on Sunday November 20 at 4.15pm. And the third Corrie star out and about this weekend is....
....bakwe Diggory Compton who'll be leaving his buns and baps behind him when actor Eric Potts heads off to Hanley to do the Christmas switch on there on Saturday, November 19. The Stoke Sentinel predicts that the magic will start at 6pm when Santa and his Samba band (how groovy is that?) parade around the town to Fountain Square where there’ll be a countdown to the grand switch on at 7pm.
