Christmas Corrie goes with a bang

Yesterday's Sun newspaper revealed Christmas storylines for all the soaps, including of course our very own Corrie. Apparently there are fireworks in the Barlow household when it turns out that Ken has invited Steve and Ronnie over for Chrimbo lunch - can't imagine Tracy taking it particularly well, can you? Liz also turns up with her new man Vernon (EastEnders' Tricky Dicky) while Tracy brings her new bad boy lover - yes, you guessed, one Charlie Stubbs (they seem made for each other don't you think). Add Blache to the mix and you've got the perfect recipe for a truly disastrous Christmas meal. But if you think the Barlow household is going to be explosive this Christmas, that's nothing compared to the Mr Wong's takeaway.

Permatanned Cilla Battersby-Brown (she does for double barrelled names what chavs did for Burberry) decides to cook the Christmas turkey at the takeaway after her own oven breaks down. She leaves the big bird in the deep fat fryer to sizzle (as you do) and heads over to The Rovers for a few ales, only to hear a huge bang coming from the chippy and a fire breaking out!
Meanwhile the Baldwins are enjoying just as much peace and harmony as the Barlows. A very drunken Carol starts ranting and raving (as usual) and Jamie consoles grandad Mike whose Alzheimer's condition is getting steadily worse - that's when he's not trying to come to terms with his own feelings for step mum Frankie. Things hot up when Jamie and Frankie end up kissing (somehow that seems a bit wrong to us, even though they are not blood relatives). There's more steam on the street as 15 year olds Rosie and Craig start sleeping with each other and have problems keeping it a secret. Finally Claire give Ashley some news about the present he could hope for. Could it be a little baby Peacock is coming to Corrie.
